about us

The Mission of the Rasmussen College

Rasmussen College is dedicated to serving our communities by recognizing the diverse needs of individuals. We encourage personal and professional development through respect, appreciation and a commitment to general education as a foundation for life-long learning. As an Institution of Higher Learning, Rasmussen College is committed to preparing students to be active, productive and successful contributors to a global community.

An Historic Educational Institution

Walter Rasmussen founded Rasmussen College on September 1, 1900 in Stillwater, Minnesota. For more than a century, Rasmussen has provided exceptional opportunities for people who want to improve their lives through education. We offer online, blended and traditional academic programs with flexible scheduling and award bachelor and associate degrees, as well as diplomas and certificates in a variety of career-centric specializations.

Rasmussen College has 17 campuses — located in Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin — and one virtual campus, Rasmussen College Online. The school currently has almost 10,000 students enrolled. Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), has awarded Regional Accreditation to Rasmussen College.
