MINNEAPOLIS (Minn.)—Rasmussen College has recently expanded its Practical Nursing degree to the college’s campus in Moorhead, Minnesota, which also serves Fargo, North Dakota, and there is no waiting list for the October 2009 start date.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects more than 100,000 practical nursing jobs will be added in the healthcare industry by 2016. That coupled with the looming shortages of nurses is creating a positive outlook for potential students eager to enter this rewarding field. Yet, long waiting lists at many colleges is proving to be an obstacle.
“We continue to see other local schools with long waiting lists and often confusing application processes,” Director of the Rasmussen College School of Nursing Brad Moore said. “Some schools require students to take several semesters of general education courses before even allowing them to apply to the nursing program. When applying with Rasmussen College, the application process is immediate,” he added.
Rasmussen College School of Nursing—Fargo/Moorhead presents a rigorous curriculum that prepares students to be exceptional nurses and pass their certification exams. While the Fargo/Moorhead program is new, Rasmussen College has been turning out hundreds of nursing professionals at its other campuses for years.
“We have a strong track record of preparing first-rate nursing professionals, which is continuously validated by our students’ exam pass rates and the frequent requests we receive from local hospitals and clinics looking to fill internships as well as full-time positions,” Moore said. “We value our students as individuals and provide personalized, one-on-one attention that truly makes the difference in their success,” he added.
Practical nurses work in places like nursing homes or hospice care, and provide patient care. Rasmussen College is a regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Practical Nursing program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
