Rockford College Opens Massage Clinic to Community

Rockford (IL) — The School of Allied Health at Rasmussen College will begin offering massages to the public beginning Wednesday, July 9, 2008. All massages will be given by Rasmussen College students in the Massage Therapy program at the College, and a licensed massage therapist will monitor all massage services.
"Our main goal at Rasmussen is to prepare all of our students to be successful in their coursework, and to help them gain the necessary skills they need to be successful in their future careers," Scott Vukoder Rasmussen College Campus Director said. "Our new Massage Clinic will provide a great service to the community, while helping to provide our students with the necessary clinical hours they need in order to receive their license and degree."
Table massages will be available for $20 for 50 minutes, or individuals may choose a chair massage for $1 per minute for up to 30 minutes. Appointments will be available only on Wednesday evenings at the College located at 6000 East State Street, fourth floor, Rockford. The first appointment begins at 5:30 p.m.
The Massage Therapy program at Rasmussen College is a part of the School of the Allied Health at Rasmussen College. Students can earn either an associate’s degree or a diploma in massage therapy where they learn popular techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, shiatsu, reflexology, aromatherapy, and myofascial release.
