Aurora (IL) — In support of the demand for higher technology career-focused education, a primary focus of the Rasmussen College Aurora campus will be in the School of Technology and Design where a full suite of programming featuring the latest technologies will be available.

Rasmussen will offer students the option of several emphases in its Information Systems Management degree including Network Administration, Web Programming, Database Administration, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Security. In addition, students who are more inclined towards a creative career can find degree options in Digital Design and Animation and Web Design.

Rasmussen College recently received approval from its regional accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission, to begin its first classes at its newest campus in Aurora this Fall.

In addition to the School of Technology and Design, Rasmussen College will offer degrees in its School of Allied Health, School of Business, and School of Justice Studies.

The Aurora campus will be the second Rasmussen College campus in Illinois; the other is in Rockford. Including the new Aurora campus, Rasmussen has fifteen campuses overall, and it operates Rasmussen College Online—a national online division of the college.

"It’s exciting to see our growth in Illinois," Rasmussen College President Kristi Waite said. "We are an institution dedicated to serving our community and providing exceptional career-focused learning in high-demand disciplines, and we look forward to providing the high quality services we are known for to the community of Aurora."

The Aurora campus is located at 2363 Sequoia Drive and will occupy more than 27,000 square feet.

Rasmussen College offers a strong community, career-focused degrees, personalized student support services and career placement assistance. To date, Rasmussen College has placed more than 92 percent of its students in careers for which they came to college to study.

The new Aurora campus is scheduled to open its doors June 23, and the first on-campus classes will begin in October.
