Green Bay (Wis.) — After only 19 months in operation, Rasmussen College Green Bay is preparing to expand its campus in order to meet the growing student demand. An additional 7,200 square feet will be added to the campus located at 904. S. Taylor Street in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

"When we opened our campus in October 2007, we knew that there was a need for more educational opportunities in the area and we set out to provide a wide variety of programmatic and course offerings to meet this need," said Scott Borley, Campus Director of the Rasmussen College Green Bay Campus. "This expansion project will greatly add to our current resources, and provide current and potential students with even more opportunities to further and advance their careers."

Martin Development located in Green Bay is overseeing the expansion project, and owns the facility. Included in the additional 7,200 square feet of new space will be a second Allied Health Lab, two more computer labs, one more general education classroom, a new Student Services room, and additional administrative office space. The new addition is projected to be open in time for the start of October 2009 classes.

"Partnering with Rasmussen College on building and expanding the college has given me a great sense of satisfaction as I watch students taking classes, graduating, and most importantly, obtaining jobs in their desired fields of study," said Thomas Martin, owner and manager of Martin Development. "Martin Development has owned and developed many properties in the Green Bay area over the past fifteen years, however the impact that Rasmussen College has had in the Green Bay community has been astonishing."

Along with the new expansion, students can know obtain a Medical Laboratory Technician Associate's degree at the Green Bay campus. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics website (www.bls.gov), rapid job growth and excellent job opportunities are expected in this field, and employment of clinical laboratory workers is projected to grow 14 percent by 2016.

The Medical Laboratory Technician program is just one of the healthcare degrees available through the School of Allied Health, and teaches students how to conduct tests to help detect, diagnose, and treat diseases, and work with doctors, nurses, specialists, and other medical professionals in a hospital or clinical setting. Students can enroll now to begin courses in October.

"Medical Laboratory Technician is an excellent program in our School of Allied Health and we have received a great interest for this curriculum in the area," said Borley.
