Chicago (IL.) — Rasmussen College, Inc. is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural year of its Rasmussen Leadership Institute (RLI), an educational experience for high-potential managers. Rasmussen launched RLI in January 2009 as a forum for its most successful managers to interact and form relationships with company leaders, be immersed in business education and nurture their strong leadership skills to increase their professional development. While most organizations are cutting staff, benefits and training, Rasmussen continues to invest in the growth of its employees through RLI.

The diverse group of RLI attendees was chosen based on their outstanding contribution to Rasmussen, potential for growth and nominations by superiors. Both seasoned veterans and individuals who have completed at least one year of employment with the company were selected to participate in this opportunity. Employee attendees include representatives from each of Rasmussen's business segments: academic, admissions, campus administrative, operations, and central services.

The curriculum for RLI was developed directly from Rasmussen's leadership principles and includes online coursework. The institute was created to accomplish two goals simultaneously; prepare the future leaders of Rasmussen and provide a professional growth opportunity for company management. Rasmussen places the growth of its students and employees at the forefront of its business model.

"It is our goal to create a world-class educational experience for our high-potential managers," explained Greg Finkelstein, VP, Human Capital and Corporate Communications, Rasmussen. "The Rasmussen Leadership Institute provides the perfect combination of professional development and reward for successful employees, while also bolstering the organization with a promising next generation of leaders."

In September 2009, 24 leaders within the Rasmussen organization will graduate from RLI following more than six months of training, workshops and professional development. Each participant will leave with the tools and competencies to become inspiring leaders and innovators within the organization, ensuring that Rasmussen will remain a leader in the fast-growing online education market.
