SWAT Team, K-9 Unit, Bomb Squad, and More to Take Over Criminal Justice Career Day at Rasmussen College

Bismarck (N. Dak.) — The SWAT Unit, a Search and Rescue Bloodhound, a dive team, and a K-9 unit are taking over the Bismarck campus of Rasmussen College on Thursday, May 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to show off some of the career opportunities available in the growing field of Criminal Justice.
In this age of rising unemployment, there are signs that criminal justice is a career path with stability and opportunity for growth. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for law enforcement are expected to grow by 11 percent, 16 percent for correctional officers, 11 percent for probation officers and correctional treatment specialists, and by 17 percent for security officers through the year 2014.
The Criminal Justice Career Day is free and open to the community and it will give people interested in a career in Justice Studies a hands-on opportunity to learn more about the field. The Burleigh County Sherriff's Department will have its Mobile Command Post, Dive Team, Search and Rescue bloodhound, and SWAT unit at the event.
The Bismarck Police Department will have its K-9 unit and bomb squad there.
Rasmussen College will be serving food and refreshments at this event. Plus, Admissions Representatives and instructors will be on-hand to answer questions about the programs available through the School of Justice Studies.
Rasmussen College offers Bachelor's and Associate's degrees online and on campus through the School of Justice Studies. Programs include Law Enforcement, Crime Scene Evidence, Criminal Offenders, Homeland Security, and Paralegal studies.
