Native American Film Producer to Speak at Brooklyn Park College

Brooklyn Park (Minn.) — Film Producer Sydney Beane will discuss his most recent documentary, Native Nations: Standing Together for Civil Rights, at the Brooklyn Park campus of Rasmussen College on Wednesday, May 27 at 12:00 p.m.

Beane was the producer, historian, and writer for the Native Nations project, which was recently broadcast on the Hallmark Channel and on ABC.

Community members are invited to attend the event and to meet Beane. In addition to Native Nations, Beane will discuss his recent and upcoming documentaries and the filmmaking process. Beane has been involved in both television and film production and will share his experiences with both.

Beane is currently working on a new documentary film about Charles Alexander Eastman, a Dakota Sioux Medical Doctor/Activist/Author.

In addition to filmmaking, Beane is the Acting Director for Organizing and Community Development with the Native American Community Development Institute in Minneapolis.
