Mankato (Minn.) — The Rasmussen College Mankato campus will host the first annual Sustainability Conference on Thursday April 23, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The conference will focus on environmental and energy efficient trends for small businesses.
In 2007, more than 71 percent of Americans believe current trends will lead to global warming and an increase in temperatures, according to a Harris Poll. One way to become more "green" is to inform businesses and the general public about different ways they can reduce the size of their carbon footprint.
The conference will feature several workshops hosted by local and national experts in architecture, recycled building materials, hybrid vehicles, agricultural based products, web marketing optimization, business plan writing, and electronic advertising. Each workshop will be interactive and will cover the latest trends in their field.
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to local employers who currently use green materials and technology, and discuss the global benefits of such practices.
The Rasmussen College Sustainability Conference is free and open to the public.
