In the current economy, many people have returned to school for a higher degree in order to be more competitive
in the job market. However, many of those people aren’t going to campus—they’re choosing online colleges.

While more and more people are going online, some students are still wary of taking online classes. The lack of faceto-
face contact with an instructor and the intimidation of technology have stopped some people from pursuing an
online degree.

Offering online degrees for almost a decade, Rasmussen College is a pioneer in online education and has created an
unparalleled online learning environment that puts these students at ease. Rasmussen College has taken online
education to a whole new level. Its online curriculum team, led by Director of Online Course Development Steve
Wettergren, has implemented the latest technologies to make the online courses at Rasmussen College interactive
and captivating.

“Students have different learning styles,” Wettergren said. “By using cool tools like widgets, students can learn by
interacting with the media, by watching videos and listening to audio samples, by observing digital lectures, and much
more. Rasmussen College is making the courses a more engaging experience.”

Rasmussen College has developed several learning tools to help online students get a realistic experience to help
them learn. For example, Wettergren and his team recently developed a virtual hospital for online Medical
Administration students.

“One of the coolest things we have done for our online Medical Administration students recently is that we built a
virtual hospital. They can go through the hospital and look through patient files, meet financial personnel, and get a
realistic view of what working in a healthcare facility is like.”

Rasmussen College is known as a leader in online education, and it has partnered with more than a dozen top
universities to offer online degrees through its partnership with Deltak edu. Deltak edu, a subsidiary of Rasmussen
College, Inc. has been chosen by thirteen universities around the nation to administer the online learning platform,
recruit students, monitor retention, and much more for its partners.

“We are able to make education accessible and beneficial to all kinds of students with different needs,” Rasmussen
College, Inc. President and CEO Michael Locke said. “From the Associate’s level to the Master’s level, we are
delivering top quality online education in a convenient, pedagogically effective format.”
