MANKATO (Minn.) — Gov. Tim Pawlenty set a goal for all higher education students in Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to earn 25 percent of their college credits online, and the Mankato campus of Rasmussen College is holding an information session on the ease of taking classes online on Wednesday, March 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to help people understand what online learning is really like.
Rasmussen College has been a pioneer in online education for almost a decade and would like to help prospective students get accustomed to this virtual learning environment.
“At first, many students are fearful of taking classes online because they don’t understand how simple it is,” Rasmussen College Academic Dean Donna Wenkel said. “At this session, we will be able to really walk perspective students through all the steps and answer questions they might have in order to resolve any anxieties they might have about online education.”
Rasmussen College staff will be present to answer questions about programs, financial aid, and career placement. If a student takes courses online, they are still eligible for the same support on-campus students receive.
This event is free and lunch will be provided to those who RSVP. For more information or to RSVP, call (507) 625-6556.
The Mankato campus is located at 1250 130 Saint Andrews Drive, Mankato, MN 56001.
