Free Resume Writing Seminar for People Who Are Job Searching

MANKATO (Minn.) — Resumes are usually the first thing people give to potential employers and they play a vital
role in the hiring process. The Rasmussen College Mankato campus is offering three Resume Writing Seminars and
Career Counseling classes on:
• Monday, March 2: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday, March 14: 10:00 a.m. – noon
• Monday, March 16: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
These free classes will focus on updating resumes, so that employers can see a candidate’s full potential. Career
Services Advisors will help people overcome resume writing challenges, update their qualifications, prepare a career
portfolio, and provide career counseling.
Amy Ites, Career Services Coordinator at the Mankato campus, knows the importance of presenting a high-quality
resume.
“Due to our economic situation, employers are being bombarded with hundreds of resumes for each open position
they post,” Ites said. “There aren’t enough people and there isn’t enough time to read them all. Your resume needs
to stand out if you want to get noticed.”
