about us

A History of Meeting Educational Needs

Rasmussen Inc. was formed in 2004 to combine the approach of proven online education practices with established support campuses in order to focus on the mission of supporting the long-term needs of our students, the employers of our graduates, our team and the communities we collectively serve. We understand that education is an investment that is vital to success in today's job market.

Rasmussen College is a private, regionally accredited college offering career-focused Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees. Walter Rasmussen founded the College in 1900 with a mission to deliver top-notch educational programs that answer the demands of the growing business environment. Throughout its history, Rasmussen College has been committed to preparing students to be active, productive and successful contributors to their global community.

Deltak edu is focused on extending the mission, programs and reach of our academic partners to a broader geographic and diverse population of learners. Leveraging our experience, knowledge and capabilities, we connect and support learners seeking online degrees with prominent institutions that possess a reputation for academic integrity and rigor. Deltak's roots extend back to 1994 when Dr. William Graves established the Institute of Academic Technology (IAT) with the mission of developing technology to better support distance education with assistance from the University of North Carolina and a grant from IBM. Dr. Graves fostered some of the first online education programs and his pioneering efforts established the foundation upon which Deltak was built.

Together, we are a premier provider of online educational experiences that deliver Associate, Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degree programs through a network of online and support campuses. Combining Rasmussen College and Deltak edu, Rasmussen serves more than 10,000 students in 50 states and eight countries with the support of dedicated employees at campuses in five Midwest and Southeast states and offices in Chicago, Orlando and the Twin Cities.

Our goal is to help each student graduate, get a meaningful job and build a career.
